Drivetrain Variables Output

The drivetrain variable outputs are as follows:

  • Rotor speed - The hub rotational speed (includes LSS flexibility).
  • Rotor azimuth angle - The azimuth angle of the rotor. By default, blade 1 will start at 0 deg.
  • Gearbox speed (LSS side) - The rotational speed of the low-speed shaft at the gearbox side accounting for torsional flexibility.
  • Gearbox speed (HSS side) - The rotational speed of the high-speed shaft at the gearbox side accounting for torsional flexibility and for the generator rotational direction.
  • LSS twist - Deflection of the low-speed shaft torsional flexibility hinge.
  • LSS rate of twist - Rate of deflection of the low-speed shaft torsional flexibility hinge.
  • Brake speed - Returns the speed of the shaft where the brake is located.
  • Generator speed - Low-speed shaft speed multiplied by gearbox ratio (unless slipping clutch is defined).
  • Generator azimuth angle - Rotational speed of the high-speed at the gearbox plus the rate of twist of any hinge component on the high-speed shaft (slipping clutch, flexibililty and so on).
  • LSS torque - Low-speed shaft torque on gearbox side of low-speed shaft.
  • HSS torque - High-speed shaft torque on gearbox side of high-speed shaft.
  • Brake applied torque - Torque applied by all brakes to the shaft defined by the user. Accounts for the generator rotational direction.
  • Brake reaction torque - Brake torque acting on the shaft.
  • Mechanical loss torque - Torque loss computed by the mechanical losses calculation.
  • Generator air-gap torque - Measured torque computed by the generator model.
  • Slip-clutch torque - Torque transmitted between HSS and generator rotor. Only output if slipping clutch defined.
  • Slipping-clutch slip speed - It is the difference between the generator speed and the HSS shaft. Only output if slipping clutch is defined.
